Speaking of Horses Incorporated is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that provides speech therapy on horseback for children with disabilities. We are looking for horse leaders and side walkers to help keep our organization running smoothly. No prior horse experience is required because are horses are big, calm puppy dogs. We operate on weekdays from 2:15 to sunset and on the weekends. We hope for at least a 1 day per week of commitment. We would love to have you join our mission of helping children find their voices!

Literacy Volunteers of Charlottesville/Albemarle is seeking volunteer tutors. Many of our students are refugees and immigrants trying to better their lives in their new community.
No teaching experience is required. Our tutor training and additional support helps prepare you! Most of our tutor/student pairs meet for two hours a week at a mutually convenient time. Both in-person and virtual options available. We do ask for a year-long commitment. As a tutor, you will receive a rewarding experience knowing you've helped someone achieve their goals and improve their lives.
