Become a puppy sitter or raiser for a guide dog puppy in training!

Guiding Eyes for the Blind, a 501(c)3 non-profit, has puppies seeking volunteer puppy raisers or sitters. With your help, we can place exceptional guide dogs with people experiencing vision loss.

Raise a Guiding Eyes puppy for as little as 2 months or as long as 14-18 months, providing the pup with the love, socialization, house manners, & basic obedience needed for guide dog training. Want to volunteer but aren't sure about a long-term commitment to raising? We need volunteers for alternatives such as co-raising, short-term raising, and dog-sitting or 'daycare'!

No prior dog experience is required! You receive support through online resources, group classes and 1-on-1 training with Guiding Eyes staff.

Note: Technically you would be part of the "Richmond region" but a GEB staff member lives in Charlottesville so you would not need to travel to Richmond.
