Students self-select the public service category through the student organization registration process, and staff assign this category to administrative organizations.

We are Battleground Faith/Princess Club. We are an organization that aims to uplift members of the Charlottesville community, specifically the young girls of the West Haven community. We base our means of reaching out to the community on Christian principles.
Be the Match
Every year, thousands of people of all ages are diagnosed with blood cancers like leukemia or lymphoma, sickle cell anemia or other life-threatening diseases. Many of them will die unless they get a bone marrow or cord blood transplant from amatching donor. Black Girls RUN!
The mission of Black Girls RUN! is to encourage African-American women to make fitness and healthy living a priority. According to the Centers for Disease Control, 80% of African-American women are overweight. BGR! wants to create a movement to lower that percentage and subsequently, lower the number of women with chronic diseases associated with an unhealthy diet and sedentary lifestyle.
Blue Ridge Mountain Rescue Group
The Blue Ridge Mountain Rescue Group (BRMRG) is a volunteer Search and Rescue organization comprised of UVA students and members of the community. Building Goodness in April
The BGiA project is led by students from UVA's Darden Business School and has been serving the community since 1991. Students work in partnership with the Building Goodness Foundation, raise funds and lead the collaboration with over 20 local Charlottesville organizations to execute Build Day.
