The student organizations listed here are involved in service through local, national, and international community service activities, fundraising, and activism. Students self-select the public service category through the student organization registration process, and staff assign this category to administrative organizations.

Camp Kesem at the University of Virginia

Camp Kesem is a free weeklong summer camp for kids whose parents have or have had cancer. Throughout the year, student volunteers fundraise, attend camper reunions, participate in PR events, and more. Camp Kesem self-sustaining through the work of dedicated volunteers! Campus Girl Scouts

Campus Girl Scouts is an organization comprised of University students who want to stay involved with Girl Scouting, but don't necessarily have the time to devote to leading a troop. Our primary activities are planning events for local Girl Scouts and volunteering in our community. Past events have included Father Daughter Dance, Mother Daughter Tea and Badge Workshops.

Cards for Kids

We play poker. All proceeds are donated in support of our local and international community.

Cavs & Panthers Mentorship and Enrichment Program

Cavs & Panthers is a program that pairs university students with students at Red Hill Elementary in need of academic help for weekly tutoring and mentoring. The program also incorporates enrichment activities at Red Hill Elementary and field trips around the Charlottesville area to further develop realtionships between Red Hill students and UVA mentors.

CAVS and the Market

Child Advocacy Research & Education

CARE is a service group that takes a legal approach to issues affecting children, including education, juvenile justice, foster care and immigration.
